BampA Why would a regular user not pick a best answer?

Question

BampA Why would a regular user not pick a best answer?
There have been a spate of questions lately about BampA habits, but one of my pet peeves has not been touched on. I dont care if the drop ins and homework questions dont pick but I would like a little insight into why a regular user who expects people to be creative and thoughtful would feel that leaving a question to a vote is appropriate.

Answer

Guilty as chargedI dont pick a lot of best answers on my questions. I wouldnt be surprised if you were talking about me!brbrThe reason for this is that I tend not to ask factual questions I tend to ask opinion questions besides my silly reality TV pools, which have scores. I often find more than one opinion interesting, and I would rather have the public decide which is better than to decide myself.brbrI also dont like hurting peoples feelingsso I tend to err on the side of avoiding conflict between two people whom I respect, who offer good answers. If I asked questions like Who wrote Huckleberry Finn? it would be a lot easier to pick best answer there than in something that revolves around opinion and may receive multiple good opinions.brbrGranted, this leaves my questions open for responses like lol fart to win best answer, but I like to believe that the voters will reward quality. Maybe thats a bit Pollyannaish of me, but so be it.brbrMy perspective probably is radically different than yours, but I dont think yours or mine are wrongwere just coming at it from different angles.
